Parapa Palace
|
You start your game here. This guide is going to be quite simple. Exit the North Palace and follow the road east until you come to Rauru. |
Head to the second screen. Wait for the girl in purple to come out with a bowl on her head. Talk to her and follow her inside her house. Go inside and talk to her father, the Wise Man, who will teach Link the Shield spell (halves damage taken when used). Exit the town. |

From Rauru, go northwest. Enter the lone forest. Grab the Power Bag worth 50 exp (it should level you up). Level up your Life and exit. Now go to the grass and wait for Bots to attack (don't fight the Moblins). Take enough time to level Life to 3, Magic to 2, and Attack to 2. |
Talk the the lady in red in the first part of Rauru to restore your HP. Head to the cave northeast of town. It will be pitch black inside, so be carefull when crossing (there will be one enemy crawling across the ground halfway in. You can see its feet if you watch carefully). From the exit, go southeast across the desert until you find a normal path. You'll have to jump across platforms while dodging bubbles in one horizontal screen. Once that's done, head to the patch of grass in the middle of the forest squares to find a heart container guarded by a boomerang-throwing fiend. Beat him first, then grab the heart (since it heals your life to full in addition to lengthening your life bar). Head back north to the Parapa Palace. |

Upon entering, go right and go down the elevator. Beware of the Dog Knights. If you touch them, they will take away exp. From the elevator, go left. Kill the Red Stalfos (attack the lower part) and get the key just a bit behind it. |
Head back right, past the elevator. Unlock the door and keep going right. Pass the next elevator you see and when you come to another elevator, go up it (there is a fairy to the right of the elevator). Go right. Grab the key and continue. Kill the Hammer Thrower and grab the other key. Go back down the elevator. |

Go left and down the elevator I told you to avoid earlier. Make your way left. Cross the falling bridge (grab the P-bag on your way - jump while running and stab with the sword just before you land). Kill the Hammer Thrower and the Ironknuckle to get the Candle. If you have the patience, this is actually an excellent place to level up some. Those Skull Balls are worth 50 experience a pop, but they take a lot of hits to go down. Hitting one will stun it, so once you get the first hit in it's merely a matter of staying in range and stabbing for a while. Once you done this for as long as you can stomach, proceed. Go right and back up the elevator. Go right and go down the next elevator. |
Kill anything in your way and make your way right. After a couple of screens, you will face your first boss, Horsehead. Two things before fighting, make sure your exp is 50 exp away from a level up, and cast Shield before the fight. This is an easy battle. Jump and stab at the head. It will leave 50 exp and drop a key. Go right and place the jewel in the statue. Level up again (putting the crystal in place in any of the palaces automatically boosts you to the next level) then exit. |
